VECCHIA CASA MONTINARI
THE HOUSE
Vecchia Casa Montinari offers bed and breakfast in a delightful old manor house, of historic and artistic interest and beautifully restored. The house was probably the home of the last Greek rite parish priest in Calimera, Sigismondo De Matteis, who died on 3 March 1621. The house is in the historical centre of the village of Calimera which is right at the heart of the Salento area, where a form of old Greek is still spoken by some! It is not far from the beautiful baroque city of Lecce, from Otranto and Gallipoli, and the uncontaminated coasts of the lower Adriatic and the Ionian sea.
The mini-apartment, with its own independent entrance from one of the two courtyards surrounding the house, has a breakfast room and two double bedrooms newly and elegantly furnished and air-conditioned, each with ensuite bathroom.
Prices per day as follows
Single room 40-45€ double room 60-70€ inclusive of breakfast, bedroom and bathroom linen, daily cleaning.
Optional extras include links to Lecce railway station or Brindisi airport; guided cycle tours; guided tours; sailing lessons.
